We spent the morning exploring a very large cave called the Silver Cave . The stalagmites and stalactites were enormous: two million years old. They were lit up with some crazy disco lights and had some compelling names. One was "mother's love" and the formations looked like bosoms. The kids thoroughly enjoyed that--health class taught them a lot.
After the caves, one of the girls had the genius idea to go to a fish spa that we had seen the previous evening. You emerge your feet in a tub full of little fish (the place called them demon fish) and they eat the dead skin off your feet. This was a squealing hit. It took a few kids a minute to get used to it, but they all groaned with disappointment when we announced our departure.
We boarded a plane to Shanghai late afternoon and just now arrived in the glorious (and hot) city. Kids are giggling behind me on our luxury bus and we are headed to dinner. I swear, we've spent half of this trip eating--no complaint from the kids.
After dinner we will walk the bund and then sleep the soundest sleep of the wearied traveler.
