We end our trip in the grandest city in China: Shanghai. The kids exchanged tearful goodbyes last night and this morning and we drive the two hours to Shanghai.
The day was comparatively relaxing: first a museum of history, the shopping. Most kids were out of money, but the few who had some dough left found some treasures, including: 17 pocket watches, a frightening American flag/monster mask, and more fans.
Your children are so excited to see you tomorrow. Although when I asked them what they were most looking forward to, they all mentioned food first, and then the American toilets (only grimy squatie-potties here).
We board the plane tomorrow, at noon. We travel back in time to Portland, to arrive at about the same time, on the same day.
